Chemo #5

Chemo # 5 has been cancelled. I reported headaches and other problems so Doctors decided to do another CT scan to see what's what. The tumour is growing again, which means the chemo isn't working.

They have referred me for Radiotherapy, and at this stage I'm waiting for a meeting with the Radiotherapist to see if this is a viable option or not. Unfortunately I might not see them till next week - so I have nothing to report for now.

As you can appreciate this is difficult news to process at this stage in the treatment. I had my head around being terminal, just not so soon, but I suppose I've past the 3-month prognosis.

So conversations have moved from short holidays to palliative care. The funny thing is that I'm the healthiest person in the ward by a long shot.

So sorry to hear this AW.

I have to say that your pic is one of the best avatars I've ever seen, you look tres healthy, check that beautiful skin. (Ok, now I sound like the freak from Silence of the Lambs ... "she rubs the lotion, then she puts it in the basket")

Hmmn, my comment is proving how blimmin difficult it is to know what to say after hearing news like this. I just wanted you to know that you're in my thoughts.

Just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you walk this part of your journey.

I am sad that the chemo didn't work and crossing fingers that radiotherapy will be a viable option for you.

Anna,

Am gutted to hear this but can't say I'll pray for you. You know why.

Reckon you can hold out until mid-November? Dad's 65th birthday is then so given I'd be coming from London it be good to, umm, errr, oh dear ... kill two birds with one stone.

Hugs and kisses,

Andrew.
PS Speaking of London, wasn't I going to buy you lunch next time you're here? I think you bought my lunch when I was leaving Auckland for Sydders and I owed you one in London.

Lita - photo was a few months back and I think my face is twice as big now.

Anonymous: What do you know we will win this battle.

Lea: thanks it was quite mind boggling when I was gold, but on to the next treatment.

Andrew: I'll do my best to get thru to November. But getting to London for lunch, probably not. xxoo

But everyone thanks for your thoughts and support.
